Two metal injection molding is early application in rocket and commercial airliner. PIM parts if used as aircraft critical components, because the residual pores in sintered parts is unacceptable, so need to be completely by hot isostatic pressing densification. For a difficult field of aerospace parts material must be high temperature tolerance in erosion environment, the most suitable material is high temperature alloy (nickel or cobalt based)
Though there have been many examples of parts, but only a few PIM components are used in aerospace. A problems the need for detailed test data, such as fracture toughness, fatigue and stress rupture properties, which requires authentication test is very expensive. Even so, there are still a few in the development of the selected parts, including the propeller and the low-temperature turbine parts fasteners, pump actuator, hydraulic components of a shell and a small booster rocket.
